Oral History

The Fairlight History Group has been awarded a grant by Fairlight Parish Council to embark on an oral history project. Oral history aims to record information, thoughts and opinions at an individual level for present and future generations
The project which has the support of Fairlight Parish Council, aims to encourage the involvement of the whole village and not only the Fairlight History Group. The grant will be used to train up to 12 interviewers by Zoom (due to Covid rules) on Tuesday 15th June 1.30-5.15pm and Thursday 17th June 1.30-5.15pm 2021 and will include such topics as interviewing, equipment and archiving. It is necessary to be able to attend both sessions. Those trained would then interview and record the voices of residents who wish to contribute their memories to an archive or / and a publication.
Those interested in becoming involved should contact Liz Green on liz.green139@hotmail.com  or ring 01424 601080 or 07751008065.
